“Solutions Volume 1” Showcases Innovative Design, Art, Activism on May 2

MINNEAPOLIS – On May 2, 2007 Solutions Twin Cities will produce a unique event at the Southern Theater. Solutions Volume 1 showcases leading edge work by local designers, architects, artists and activists. It’s the only place you will find solar powered clean water for slums, new designs for money, the first urban flower coop, the pre-fab weeHouse, a mobile movie theater for refugees and even blooming roofs. And more. All together. All in one place.

The fast-paced program will provide a series of presenters called “solutionists” 6 minutes and 40 seconds each to “wow” the audience with their work. The tight time frame allows each presenter just enough time to present 20 rapid-fire slides, ensuring a high impact exchange of ideas.

Doors will open for Solutions Volume 1 at the Southern Theater at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2007. Presentations will take place from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. followed by a 30-minute discussion. The evening will wind up with a reception until midnight with music by local blues and rockabilly trio, Cadillac Kolstad Band. Tickets are $6.00 online or with a student ID and $8.00 at the door. The Southern Theatre is located at 1420 Washington Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55454 in the Seven Corners area.

Solutions Volume 1 is a local forum for world-changing ideas. It provides a venue for local designers, artists, and activists who are on the forefront of a tidal wave of change to gather, present, and inspire others through their ideas and accomplishments. Solutions Volume 1 is a rapid-fire exchange of ideas that will showcase real-world solutions to real-world challenges.
