The DOH and Psilocybin Products
The DOH has many powers and is required by law to provide adequate oversight of psilocybin products, including the ability to buy, seize, and transfer them to the licensee. The agency also has the authority to examine the licensee’s books and conduct inspections of the premises. A licensee may have to adhere to certain procedures, including submitting regular reports. There are other requirements that the DOH must meet as well.
Licensing Of A Psilocybin Product Manufacturing Facility
As an example, the DOH must establish a social opportunity program to help applicants meet the licensing requirements for psilocybin products and services. In addition, the agency must consider factors such as the demand for psilocybin services in the State, the number of license applicants, and the geographic distribution of the proposed licensees. For example, a psilocybin service center may need to meet the requirements for a drug license, but not one for the manufacturing of psilocybin products.
A psilocybin license requires that the manufacturer or distributor submit an application in a DOH-specified format. The applicant must also identify the location in which they would like to conduct their operations. Once the license has been approved, the applicant will be able to begin producing psilocybin products for sale. The DOH may also require the licensing of a psilocybin product manufacturing facility.
The DOH will then review all applications. If the applicant does not meet the requirements, the DOH may deny the application. If the application is rejected, the applicant may submit a new application or renew the license. If the applicant is under 21, no psilocybin license will be granted. If an applicant is under the age of 21, the DOH may reject the application. A person must be at least 21 years of age to apply for a license.
